Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidates will become work with a multi-contractor team in the development and execution of a comprehensive assessment program supporting a capability-based acquisition of the C2 Element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).


Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Successful candidate will perform use case development and prepare systems engineering artifacts including definition of Epics and Features to be developed by program Cross-Functional Product Teams to implement customer requested capabilities
  • Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews
  • Provide use case development support to junior systems engineering team members to enhance use case skills in the department
  • Ability to be flexible to support various tasking on short notice
  • Interface with team members, program management, and government customers to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available
  • Adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to Missile Defense Agency (MDA) working level counterparts on an as-required basis
  • Actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development including iteration planning, statusing, and agile team leadership
  • Participate in the planning and execution assessments of the program
  • Develop and execute test procedures against requirements allocated to the SE FA. This includes documentation of the procedure, negotiation of the test methodology, and execution of the testing and negotiation of the final delivered product.
  • Refine use cases to support test case flow development, drafting Test Specifications for detecting flow trigger events and output success test conditions, coordinating with Product Team test leads, maintaining track of test status, and leveraging test case input to in support of test procedure development
  • Will also be involved in the following activities: system requirement analysis, requirement development, allocation and documentation; functional analysis and decomposition; functional architecture development; system design support; trade studies; and Technical Performance Measures (TPM)/Special Items of Interest (SII)
  • Some travel required

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited school with at least 5 years of experience in a related field, or a Master's Degree with at least 3+ years of experience in a related field.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Candidate should possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical requirements baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving BMDS
  • Demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill in development of use cases, sequence diagrams, and SysML modeling in support of MBSE
  • Experience applying requirements management practices using the DOORS tool or similar
  • Maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement management system; defining the relationships between internal and external components; communicating system level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users.
  • Skills generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities.
  • Experience must include specific roles on a program with respect to use case development, requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components through a structured and logical approach
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze high level needs utilizing use cases/scenarios and relate them to the requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to implement engineering plans within a project
  • Must possess understanding of DoD and missile defense command and control, battle management, architectures and communications system concepts, mission, and common system test and data analysis techniques
  • Experience with verification of requirements
  • Understanding of System Engineering and iterative product development using Agile practices
  • Experience in developing capability assessments, assessment objectives and related assessment plans and procedures
  • Experience writing programs in Java and Python, or similar languages
  • Experience participating in requirements development and capability assessments of BMDS elements
  • Must be able to develop objectives and requirements independently and cooperatively for capability assessments and have prior experience writing assessment plans
  • Experience developing Use cases to support test case flow development
  • Should be an expert in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with DOORS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience in relevant DoD interface, assessment and test methodologies and terminologies and MDA elements or components
  • Experience with Agile Methods, and Epic and Feature definition
  • Skills in logical architecture modeling and/or interface definition, as well as knowledge of cyber security concepts and security accreditation.
  • Experience in Agile development environments with particular experience in Agile lead positions
  • Experience with / knowledge of MBSE or model-based engineering
  • Experience with Cyber Security, the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and network design
  • Additionally, experience as a scrum master in an Agile development environment
  • Experience in scripting and automated test development

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
