QTEC Aerospace is seeking candidates for a Systems Administrator to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for a highly capable and motivated individual. The successful candidate will provide critical system administration of the software development and ancillary laboratory environments supporting a Missile Defense.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Operating, maintaining, and managing Linux systems supporting a software development environment
  • Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations, system security, and availability of a Linux environment
  • Respond appropriately to any security incidents discovered in the system or directed by program security
  • Install, configure, monitor, manage and maintain all Linux based servers and workstations
  • Create and maintain Linux server documentation
  • Create and maintain Linux system administration processes and procedures using Ansible playbooks
  • Install, configure, manage and maintain all Linux server-based applications
  • Ensure all Linux based systems are running current versions of antivirus software with current virus definition files
  • Create, manage and maintain security groups and user accounts
  • Monitor, manage and maintain storage systems and devices
  • All other tasks as assigned by the IT site lead or IT manager Secondary Responsibilities
  • Assist the help desk to respond to end users requests/issues if needed

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 5+ years of professional experience; 3+ years with Master's degree
  • Candidate must meet minimum requirements of DOD 8570 IAT II certification with any of the following certifications (Security +, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Linux system administration
  • System Security Implementations
  • Windows Systems administration
  • Standard knowledge with Microsoft Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, GPOs, VMware etc.
  • Experience supporting Windows based workstations, desktops and notebook computers.
  • Technical documentation skills
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Multi-Factor Authentication implementation including: IPA and ADFS, OpenShift, OpenStack, VMware ESXI, QAS/VAS, Windows, Active Directory, Backup and Recovery, Containers and Container Orchestration products
  • Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Jira and Confluence
  • Understand the concept of PaaS and SaaS
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery and how it applies to IT and IT products

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
