QTEC Aerospace is seeking a Software Developer / Tester to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Planning, designing, developing, analyzing, and testing program TDL-J and JREAPC implementation
  • Interface with the Engineering Support and Mission Apps team stakeholders, including: Track Reporting and Battle Manager software developers, as well as Missile Defense Agency counterparts
  • Software Development
  • Performance and behavioral analysis
  • Test planning, test coordination, test execution, and data message behavior analysis to confirm compliance to MIL-STD-6016 and MIL-STD-3011C standards

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or related field with 8+ years of professional experience; 6+ years with Master's degree

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Significant experience with TDL-J / Link-16 and JREAP message protocols, as defined by MIL-STD-6016 and MIL-STD-3011C
  • Considered an expert in TDL-J
  • Significant experience in development of Link-16 applications
  • Significant experience in analysis and end to end testing of Link-16 applications
  • Be able to assess message and behavior compliance to 6016 and to 3011C standards
  • Proven track record of successfully testing a Link-16 system, or Link-16 related applications
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office products
  • Should be comfortable working with government customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Ballistic Missile Defense concepts, and Command and Control (BM/C2) systems, defense communications systems, and the BMDS in general is especially beneficial
  • Experience in command and control system application development
  • Experience in system design
  • Experience with system interfaces
  • Experience with Software Integration testing
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root cause and recommend a solution

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
